World renowned pianist and recording artist Brian Ganz will headline a week of concerts and music lectures at the Alcouffe Community Center in Oregon House from Sunday, March 24 through Saturday, March 30.

Brian Ganz is an exceptional musical artist and widely regarded as one of the leading pianists of his generation. The Washington Post stated One comes away from a recital by pianist Brian Ganz not only exhilarated by the power of the performance but also moved by his search for artistic truth.

Ganz has appeared as soloist with such orchestras as the St. Louis Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic (of Russia), Baltimore Symphony, the National Symphony, City of London Sinfonia, L'Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo, the National Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Kennedy Center with the Taipei Philharmonic.

Burke Shuchmann made his debut in London at age 19, and became principal cellist and soloist with the Salzburger Solisten in Austria. He has taught at UC Berkeley and is artistic director of Palomarin Chamber Music Foundation.

Yael Ronen studied in Tel Aviv and London, and has performed as a soloist throughout Europe. She has appeared with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and the Israeli Philharmonic under conductors Zubin Mehta and Leonard Bernstein.

Fourth Annual Foothill Music Festival 2013

Master Classes with pianist Brian Ganz - March 27, 2013 - 5.00 pm

As some of you know, he is a wonderful teacher and world renown Pianist. I've witnessed over the years many of his classes and they are truly inspiring to watch even if you are not a musician. His love for music, teaching and human beings just produce a unique experience to witness and be part of.

4 participants will perform on a beautiful 9 foot Steinway piano.
You can come and attend one or any of those 4 classes.

Participants are :

Clio Cappacioli : Mocturne in E flat major by Chopin

Leah Widener : November by Tchaikovsky

Chi Xin Thorp : 1st mvt of Binn's Melander's piano sonata in E flat minor

Michael Parks : Liszt transcription of the Liebestod by Wagner

Each participant will play +\- Half an hour.

$8 for adult, $4 for children
Drinks, wine and small snacks will be available to purchase during the event.
